The entire rotors, inside and out, is coated with an anti corrosive chemical. My previous rotors had developed serious rust inside the veins of the rotor after 2 years. These rotors, look like they will last much longer.
Most rotors are made from unprotected cast iron, so they are going to rust. The pads will clean the rust off the swept area, but the rest of the rotor can rust. Normally this isn't a problem, but there are rotors available that have a treatment for the unswept areas of the rotors. I believe Centrix is one of those brands.

I've never seen the Duralife rotors. Can and will reccomend the Powerstop Z36 Extreme Truck and Tow rotors and pads though. My plan is to spray a lot of Fluid Film inside the tower from the small rust hole inside the car and from the wheel well, the hope is this will slow down future rust in the strut tower. The rotors and pads that were installed this time are Duralast and the pads are ceramic (Cmax), both of which are higher quality than my previous ones, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
